1. Our Services

Alder & Vale provides bespoke bookbinding, restoration, and repair services in Bath. We also offer a selection of ready-made journals available for purchase directly through our website.

2. Bespoke Services & Quotes

For bespoke binding or restoration projects, we provide a quote based on the specific requirements of your book. Quotes are valid for 30 days. To proceed with a bespoke project, a 40% deposit is required. Work will commence upon receipt of this deposit. We will notify you via email when your item is ready for collection or dispatch.

3. Payments

Payments for ready-made journals are processed securely online at the time of purchase. For bespoke services, the remaining balance (after the 40% deposit) is due upon completion of the work, prior to the item being released to you. We do not currently accept online payments for bespoke deposits or final balances; these are handled via invoice and bank transfer.

4. Cancellations & Refunds

If you wish to cancel a bespoke order, please contact us as soon as possible. Deposits for bespoke work are non-refundable once materials have been ordered or work has commenced. For ready-made journals, you may return items in their original condition within 14 days of receipt for a full refund.

5. Liability

While we take the utmost care with every item entrusted to us, we are not liable for pre-existing damage or inherent weaknesses in materials provided for restoration. Our liability is limited to the value of the services provided.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to provide accurate information regarding your books and requirements. We reserve the right to decline projects that involve materials we deem inappropriate or illegal.
